News Flash! Bridger Mountain Harmony is Going to Competition,

Bridger Mountain Harmony is a women’s barbershop chorus based in Bozeman, MT. It is a chartered member of Sweet Adelines International, a worldwide organization of women singers committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony thorugh education and performance. This is not your mother’s barbershop. Today the barbershop style is applied to everything from the golden oldies to recent hits to give a performance that will delight young and old alike.
Bridger Mountain Harmony rehearses on Monday nights at 7pm at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Bozeman, MT, at the corner of Durston and Flanders Mill, across from Heritage Christian School. We invite any women who wish to learn more about singing with the chorus to join us some Monday night.
May, ’08: Bridger Mountain Harmony to CompeteBridger Mountain Harmony will compete in the Sweet Adelines International Region 24 annual competition in Vancouver, WA. The competition will be held May 15-18. The chorus will be the tenth competitor on Saturday. The chorus assistant director, Natalie, will also compete with the quartet Smokin’. Dec., ’07: Bridger Mountain Harmony to put on Christmas Show in LivingstonOn Sunday, December 2, 2007, Bridger Mountain Harmony will present their Christmas show, A Bridger Mountain Harmony Christmas. The show is a great way to kick off the Christmas season get into the holiday spirit with new and old songs such as It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas, Jingle Bell Rock, Man with the Bag, and Silent Night, all sung in four-part a cappella barbershop harmony. The show will include guest appearances by several women’s and men’s barbershop quartets. The Adelettes, a Young Women in Harmony girls’ barbershop chorus based in Bozeman, will also perform on the show. And, of course, no Christmas show would be complete without an appearance by ol’ Santa Claus himself. The show will be at the Livingston Christian Center at 3 p.m. on December 2, 2007. Tickets are $8. Children under 12 are free. Tickets will be available at Conley’s Books & Music and Mountainview Travel in Livingston and at the door. Oct., ’07: Bridger Mountain Harmony Members Compete at InternationalSeveral Bridger Mountain Harmony members will be competing with Five Valley Chorus, based in Missoula, MT at the Sweet Adelines International International Competition in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Five Valley Chorus is estimated to perform at 3:30pm MDT on Thursday, Oct. 11. There is a live webcast available of all competition events. |
Aug., ’07: Glenna Berdahl Achieves Certified DirectorBridger Mountain Harmony’s director, Glenna Berdahl, completed the Sweet Adelines International Director Certification Program this month, earning the title of Certified Director. Glenna has been a member of Bridger Mountain Harmony since 1981 and its director since 1998. She works very hard as director and has a wonderful musical sense. She helped the chorus achieve its first ever regional medal, fourth place in 2006, and has brought the chorus up to a B- level. Aug., ’07: Bridger Mountain Harmony Sings at Soldier’s ChapelBridger Mountain Harmony performed special music at the Sunday morning service at Soldier’s Chapel in Big Sky on August 26, 2007. The service was officiated by the Ven. Roxanne Klingensmith of St. James Episcopal Church in Bozeman. This is the second year that the chorus has performed at Soldier’s Chapel. May, ’07: Bridger Mountain Harmony Competes in Boise, IDBridger Mountain Harmony competed at its annual regional competition in Boise, ID. The chorus sang “You Better Keep Babyin’ Baby” and “The Bandstand in Central Park” as it improved its score over last year by 8 points. |
